WHAT IS A COMFORTABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROL IN THE APARTMENT?
It would help if you did not underestimate the effect of air temperature in an apartment or private house on the occupants’ quality of life and workability – it is fraught with consequences.
The requirements for air temperature are closely related to the indicators of humidity and speed of air masses moving in the rooms of the house or apartment. Therefore, a comfortable microclimate at home is determined by the ratio of these three indicators. In addition, the microclimate is influenced by
also affects the heating of the premises. So, what temperature in the house is considered close to the ideal?
Subjective perception and preference for air temperature
The air temperature in the apartment in winter and summer will be different. There is nothing strange in a deviation of several degrees. In addition, note that there are subjective and normative requirements for the temperature in individual rooms and different age groups.
In infants’ bedrooms, the temperature and humidity should be higher than in the parents’ bedroom or living room. Babies are not yet sufficiently developed thermoregulation, and constant hypothermia leads to colds. In addition, air with high humidity and temperature needs to ensure that the child’s skin and nasal mucosa do not dry out. Thus, it is easier to breathe, is not allergic, and has skin irritations.
Note that there are also differences in the required air temperature for women and men. The female half of the population is more heat-loving than the male half.
The state standard provides for the division of microclimate conditions into:
- highly optimal – for rooms where there are children, people with poor health, or the elderly;
- optimal – the healthiest conditions for a long stay of people, conditions in which thermoregulatory processes are not activated;
- acceptable – long-lasting or systematically affecting the health of the conditions. When to adapt to them, the thermoregulation mechanism is activated; there may be a sense of thermal discomfort, reduced well-being, and decreased productivity.
In SCN B.2.5-67:2013, “Heating, ventilation and air conditioning” ranges of air temperature values for different seasons and different conditions of the microclimate in residential and public buildings are regulated exactly. It is accepted that during the heating season, the optimal (and highly optimal in some rooms) microclimate conditions are acceptable for residential buildings. Acceptable microclimate conditions are acceptable for public spaces and administrative premises where people have no permanent residence.
Also, microclimate parameters and sanitary and epidemiological requirements, including normative temperature values for residential buildings, are described in DSTU B EN 15251, DSTU B EN ISO 7730, GOST 12.1.005 other normative documents.
What should be the temperature control in the apartment
Based on the above data, one can determine the most appropriate air temperature in terms of maximum health benefits and what level of temperature the heating (air conditioning) system should provide for comfortable well-being in the apartment or house.
In summer, for example, the best indoor air temperature in residential buildings is 25-26°C. In winter, a comfortable temperature is considered to be the lowest temperature of the apartment or house. And in winter, the following values will be considered a comfortable temperature:
- for a kitchen with a refrigerator and stove – 19°C;
- For the bathroom: 24-26°C;
- A room with a baby: 24 to 25°C;
- For a study or game room: 20-22°C;
- a bedroom or living room: 20-22°C.
Please note: Comfortable warmth in living rooms is best experienced at 25-60% relative humidity.
How do I control the air temperature control in my apartment?
In centralized heating systems, the temperature of the heating medium depends on the temperature of the outside air. The heating system supplies heat to all residential buildings; simultaneously, the control of the heating medium temperature is centralized.
In such conditions, it is difficult to set a different air temperature in individual rooms of the apartment or house and eliminate the difference in the temperature of the coolant in the upper or lower distribution in a multi-story building. As a result, the amount of heat supplied to the upper or lower floors can vary significantly.
It is much easier to measure and control the air temperature in an apartment or house with an individual heating system. That is why the level of comfort when you install individual heating is much higher.
The desired air temperature can be selected by programming the system from a room thermostat or a common remote programmer for the entire heating system. Room thermostats with a built-in temperature sensor command to turn on the heating boiler when the temperature drops below the desired level.
You can also regulate the air temperature in each room separately with thermostats mounted on each heating radiator. It is possible to turn the heater off completely or turn it to maximum – the air temperature in different rooms can be set independently.
Similarly – by room thermostats, built-in temperature sensors, the air temperature is regulated when heating individual rooms by floor heating circuits or fan coils. Very flexible and economic systems of temperature control in the house – heating and air conditioning systems with heat pumps. Management of comfort in the house with such equipment can be done remotely – via the Internet.
Conclusion: The most important thing is the weather in the house.
Comfortable heat in the home is a condition for health and one of the possibilities to improve the quality of leisure of the residents.
By controlling and maintaining the necessary optimum air temperature level in the living rooms, the normal thermal condition of the human body is maintained, health is protected, and the highest degree of ability to work is maintained.
Automatic control of temperature parameters of modern heating systems helps reduce costs for heating or air conditioning of a house. In addition, such climate control systems help achieve a higher, more energy-efficient, and comfortable comfort level in the home.
